Previous generation threadlifts - Russian or Aptos Threadlift, Featherlift, Contour Threadlift
For the lower face, uniquely constructed surgical threads (pioneered by Dr. Sorin Eremia, Director of Cosmetic Surgery, Division of Dermatology, UCLA) are inserted deep to the skin. This is performed under local anesthetic through tiny incisions that heal imperceptibly. The threads lift droopy jowls, subtly lift the neck and elevate the cheeks to give them a more youthful fullness. Dr. Lozinski uses another kind of threading to achieve a browlift as well. A newer combination of special threads (Articulus 400, Silhouette, Quill SRS and Giampapa) can further improve the neck contour. Dr. Lozinski has performed more than 160 threadlifts.
Early jowling, neck sagging and drooping brows are improved with threadlifting. More significant skin laxity may have to be addressed with a more invasive formal facelift, necklift and browlift.
A self-adherent stretch foam bandage and chin strap are worn for 3 days. Some of the sutures are removed at this point. Although some patients experience a little bruising and swelling, many feel comfortable at the grocery store at 3 days but prefer to avoid work for a week. The remaining tiny sutures are removed at 7 days.
Allowing your hair to grow to the lower earlobe hides the tiny incisions in front of the ear while they're healing.
Dr. Lozinski may ask you to wear the chin strap at night for a few additional weeks.
Although the T-Lift doesn't replace the traditional facelift, it does give pleasing results. T-Lift recovery time is considerably shorter. Threadlifting incisions become imperceptible within a few weeks whereas facelift scars are always visible. Although the lift achieved by facelifting is greater, formal face-lifting would ideally be done only once in a lifetime, otherwise excessive lateral pull can create an unnatural appearance. There is no contra-indication to repeat threadlifting.
Dr. Lozinski has performed many T-Lifts for patients who have already had a facelift and developed sagging years later.
We currently recommend Thermage just prior to the threadlift to enhance longevity of results.
If marked brow drooping is present in combination with upper eyelid bags, brow threadlifting is recommended before an upper eyelid lift (blepharoplasty) to avoid pulling the brows down even more.
